Why I’m in Florida
The image above was taken last evening on the Vilano Beach fishing pier. The temperature was a chilly 60 degrees with a strong wind.
The image below is a webcam capture from the Ober Gatlinburg ski resort about 1/2 mile from my northern Smokies Light studio (condo).
It’s 26 degrees there this morning.
Boat Gas Station
An adult man was walking with his family on the pier where I was standing and I overheard him tell his family that this was a boat gas station. I call them marinas. I just liked the colors.
Shelter from the Wind
A strong, cold north wind causes a sea bird to seek refuge on the beach.
Wouldn’t it be cool to have an app that identifies a bird from an image like the one above? There are several bird apps but I haven’t found one that takes an image as input. The app could also use GPS to record the sighting location and help id the bird. We have human face recognition now so why not bird faces?
